Complete renovation and interior design of a house in Seville
Architects — José Ángel Rey & Irene Serrano
Photographs — Juan Antonio Oliver
Built area — 160 m²
Yea — 2021
Location — Seville, Spain

We found a 1940’s house that had hardly been touched since then. The building had an inherent charm and its own historical identity of the single-family house in the city. We propose a minimal intervention, respecting and highlighting the peculiarities and details of the original design, as well as the structure of use of the same.

A courtyard full of vegetation gives access to the entrance hall through the original wooden door. The living room, with four meters of free height and plenty of light, invites you to rest and read. The original staircase is preserved with an L-shaped design. The backyard is closely linked to the kitchen, which provides natural lighting and a shaded outdoor space for dining. A new curved element is introduced to  the guest toilet and, together with the kitchen, give a hint of color that is in harmony with the vegetation.
