The project involved a full renovation of a building from 1956 with views over Retiro park. The house was originally laid out in a very compartmentalized way, in a succession of rooms with low light.
The main idea was to create an open space by completely gutting the interior. The new layout was designed by means of a usage chart which links together complimentary and related uses. To connect the different areas, we used lightweight partitions with openings in them, resulting in a very open house. The main facade allows natural light to reach the interior patio, and the large windows with minimal profiles invite the park’s vegetation into rooms.
